Italian discount retailer In’s Mercato is planning to open 30 new stores this year, aiming to expand its footprint and consolidate its brand.
According to ESM, the retailer, owned by Pam-Panorama Group, is also planning to refurbish 90 stores in northeast, northwest and central Italy, in addition to the 30 new store openings.
The new stores will feature an In’s Forno in-store bakery, as well as In’s Orto, which sells fruit and vegetables and offers a range of products of Italian origin, PGI, and seasonal products, and a new department named In’s Pescheria, which sells packaged fish and seafood as well as ready meals.
The Venice-based retailer is Italy’s fourth biggest discounter behind Eurospin, Lidl and MD, operating more than 470 stores across nine regions of the country.
