Brazilian firm Maricota Alimentos has announced that it has invested R$50 million ($9 million) in a new factory in Luz, Minas Gerais as part of plans to double sales by 2025 to R$500 million ($96 million).
According to Newtrade, the new manufacturing headquarters will have 15,000 sq m of production space, and the Minas Gerais region was strategically chosen due to its proximity to suppliers of dairy products, eggs, and other products.
The new plant will have a larger production capacity of up to 60,000 tons per year. The company is also introducing new lines such as fresh pasta, breaded food, and burgers.
In addition, Maricota Alimentos plans to increase headcount, expecting to go from 400 to 700 employees. The new factory is expected to open by 2022.
