UK food manufacturer Baxters Food Group has acquired US-based contract manufacturer Truitt Bros for an undisclosed sum.
Truitt Bros is a manufacturer of shelf-stable, thermally processed foods, operating from two facilities with a workforce of over 500 staff.
According to sources, the acquisition is part of Baxters’ plans to expand its US and global growth strategy.
“Truitt Bros is an industry innovator, providing high quality customised products to a wide variety of food companies across the US”, said Audrey Baxter, executive chairman, and group chief executive of Baxters Food Group.
“We will be working closely with the leadership teams at Truitt and Wornick to develop an integrated North American business”, she added.
Baxters produces food such as canned soups, canned meat products, pickles, sauces, vinegar, chutneys, fruit preserves, salads, and condiments.
