Nigerian Breweries has opened a new N5.1 billion (US$13.3m) ultra-modern automated PET line at the Ijebu Ode brewery.

The PET line, which has been designed with the latest technology that meets world-class safety and quality standards, is expected to produce 24,000 bottles per hour, increasing capacity for Maltina and other varieties, satisfying the needs of millions of consumers in the region.

According to the company, the PET line was developed to supply current customers in the region and to expand the portfolio of non-alcoholic beverages outside Nigeria to West Africa and beyond.

As part of the company’s commitment with the country, Nigerian Breweries plans to continue investing to expand business and create new job opportunities for Nigerians.

“We are the state with the largest concentration of industries in diverse sectors of the economy. Indeed, today’s event is another testimonial to the successes of our administration’s business policies and programmes to improve on our ease of doing business ranking to ensure that new investments are attracted into our dear state just as existing businesses are thriving,” said Prince Dapo Abiodun.
