Global beauty company Coty has announced it is expanding a deodorant factory in Brazil which it first opened in 2012.
According to Newtrade, the R$20 million ($3.7 million) expansion at Coty’s Goias plant will increase production capacity for aerosol deodorants by 30%, adding one new production line in addition to the three that are currently operating.
The investment will also be focused on upgrading processes and layout of lines, as well as the acquisition of high-tech equipment.
Nicolas Fischer, managing director of Coty, said: “Our deodorant brands have consolidated strongly in the Brazilian market, based on a strategy that offers an excellent cost-benefit ratio. We have very high-quality products, with excellent value and affordability, a concept that has allowed us to democratize aerosol deodorants. This is part of our purpose as a company – something we call ‘Accessible Beauty’ “.
Work on the unit will begin in December and is expected to be completed by September 2021.
