SC Johnson, the privately held US manufacturer of household cleaning products, has announced it has reached a deal to acquire Sun Bum, a manufacturer of sun protection, hair care, lip care and other personal care products.
“The Sun Bum brand is a welcome addition to our portfolio of trusted products”, said SC Johnson chairmain and CEO Fisk Johnson. “It also expands our robust selection of fast-growing, on-trend products like Babyganics, Method, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day and Caldrea that appeal to consumers and their families”.
Founded in Florida in 2010, Sun Bum has a portfolio that includes sunscreen, after sun, tanning oil, lip balm, shampoo, conditioner and hair styling products, as well as a range of baby toiletries.
SC Johnson said it expected the deal to be finalized subject to US regulatory approval. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
