US supermarket chain Kroger has announced that Home Chef meal kits are now being rolled out to more than 200 stores across the US Midwest.
The announcement comes after Kroger acquired the Home Chef private meal kit company this summer.
Robert Clark, senior vice president of merchandising at Kroger said: “We are excited to introduce Home Chef’s new retail meal kits to our store customers. Offering a rotating menu of recipes is one more way we are providing our customers with innovative culinary experiences and choices”.
Initally the company will test the meal kits in different locations allowing them to examine the customers response to the product.
Kroger will rotate four recipes weekly and plans to expand the meal kits to more markets in 2019. Each kit has an average price of $17 to $20.
