Australian confectionery company Haigh’s Chocolates has announced the construction of a new processing plant facility in Adelaide.
The company, which produces “premium chocolate” from “premium quality cocoa beans from cocoa growing regions around the world”, will spend $10 million on the new “state-of-the-art” chocolate facility, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year. According to sources, the new facility will include the latest machinery, technology and software.
Founded in 1915 in Adelaide, Haigh’s Chocolates is a family-owned chocolate maker, employing 500 people across its factory and its 15 retails stores around the country.
“Our traditions, quality and passion for chocolate making continues”, the firm said. “We still use only the very best, freshest ingredients and pride ourselves on being chocolate ‘bean to bar’ specialists. We are committed to the art of premium chocolate making from cocoa beans sourced from plantations around the world. Roasting our own cocoa beans enables us to develop our own unique blends of premium milk and dark chocolate with distinct aroma, texture and flavour”.
