Tyson Foods Inc, one of the world’s largest beef, pork, prepared foods and poultry producers, has announced that it is to invest $100 million dollars at its site in Georgia, USA to maximise efficiency and meet growing demand for its products.

The plant currently produces chicken for foodservice customers, but will now convert to supply  fresh tray pack chicken to meet the needs of regional retail customers, the company said. The facility will have new equipment, production lines & 100,000 square feet of space will be added, among other improvements.

“The existing infrastructure, location and the availability of workers make the Vienna plant ideal for this expansion project”, said Noel White, president of poultry for Tyson Foods. He added: “This project will improve the plant’s product mix and make it even more cost competitive”.
