St.Cousair, the Japanese food manufacturer, has acquired the brand business and selected production equipment of Blake Hill Preserves through its US subsidiary for an undisclosed sum.
Mascoma Bank sold the brand assets to Oregon-based St.Cousair, Inc., whilst Blake Hill Preserves’ manufacturing facility and retail store are set to be sold separately to an unnamed third party. Founded in 2010 by Vicky Allard and Joe Hanglin, the Vermont-based preserve maker specialises in jams, chutneys, marmalades and condiments, generating sales of $2.6 million in 2025. The founders will continue to manage day-to-day operations.
St.Cousair stated that the acquisition provides access to wholesale, distributor and direct-to-consumer networks on the US East Coast, alongside more than 290 recipes and a presence in the no-cane-sugar jam category. Relocating Blake Hill Preserves’ equipment to Oregon will support the company’s planned move to a two-shift manufacturing system.
The transaction follows a string of US acquisitions by St.Cousair, including Portlandia Foods in 2023, Bonnie’s Enterprises in 2024 and Kelly’s Jelly in 2025. In the year to March, St.Cousair posted group sales of ¥20.6 billion ($129 million), up 5.8% year on year.
