InnovAsian, a subsidiary of Japanese frozen food giant Nichirei Foods, has announced plans to construct a $105 million state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Jonesboro (AR).
The new 175,000 sq ftplant, located in the Craighead Technology Park, is expected to create approximately 200 new jobs. According to the company, the investment is intended to significantly increase production capacity for its high-growth multi-serve entree line, which includes Asian-inspired meals, appetizers, and side dishes. Nichirei is set to make a capital contribution of approximately $105 million to its subsidiary in 2026 to initiate the project, with operations scheduled to begin in 2028.
Joe Kent, president and CEO of InnovAsian, commented: “This new facility investment underscores InnovAsian’s commitment to growth and is a pivotal moment in the evolution of the brand. This is a major step forward for Nichirei’s global growth strategy in the North American market”.
The development follows a competitive multi-state search and was supported by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. Nichirei, which acquired InnovAsian in 2012, currently operates a frozen rice manufacturing facility in California and aims to reinforce its supply chain by expanding in-house production in the USA.
