USA: MBC Acquires Alpha Foods

MBC Companies, a diversified player in the US frozen foods market, has announced the acquisition of Alpha Foods, a family-owned frozen pizza manufacturer based in Waller (TX).

In a statement, MBC Companies said the deal would expand its manufacturing footprint, fuel product innovation and strengthen its ability to serve customers nationwide across multiple channels.

Founded in 1984, Alpha Foods has grown from a small regional foodservice distributor into a nationwide producer of frozen pizzas and pizza components. Today, Alpha Foods supplies a range of institutional and retail customers, including schools, grocery chains and leading consumer packaged goods brands.

Commenting on the deal, MBC Companies CEO Jeff Ahlers said: “Alpha and MBC share so much in common, from our strong family-focused culture to our commitment to quality, safety, and customer service.
