Keurig Dr Pepper, the North American beverage company, has unveiled its biggest evolution for soft drink brand 7UP in over 15 years, centering on a lime-led reformulation.
The company is debuting 7UP Lime Lemon, bringing a lime-forward taste profile to 7UP Regular, 7UP Zero Sugar, Cherry 7UP, and Cherry 7UP Zero Sugar. Rolling out nationwide in the USA beginning in mid-August, the line features updated packaging with a vertical logo, bolder colours, and a “Lime Lemon” designation. According to Keurig Dr Pepper, the renovation aims to strengthen appeal among younger consumers, noting that 72% of Gen Alpha and Gen Z drinkers gravitate toward citrus-forward flavours and 64% prefer bold taste experiences. The launch will be supported by a multiplatform marketing campaign titled “Flip the Sip”.
Drew Panayiotou, chief marketing and innovation officer at Keurig Dr Pepper, said: “7UP has an incredible legacy, but by giving lime the spotlight, we’re rewriting the rules of the lemon lime category. We are transforming a beloved heritage brand into a modern disruptor—delivering a sharper visual identity, a more refreshing taste experience, and a distinct position that attracts new users and deepens brand loyalty.”
