Hain Celestial, the US organic and natural products company, has agreed to sell its North American snacks business to Canadian manufacturer Snackruptors for $115 million.
The transaction includes the divestment of major brands such as Garden Veggie Snacks, Terra and Garden of Eatin’. The deal is part of Hain Celestial’s broader strategy to simplify its portfolio and focus on core high-growth categories. Following the sale, the company will retain its remaining North American assets, including Celestial Seasonings teas, Greek Gods yogurt, Spectrum Organic culinary oils, and Earth’s Best Organic baby food.
Alison Lewis, CEO of Hain Celestial, commented: “The sale of our snacks business is a decisive first step we are taking to sharpen our focus on categories and platforms in key markets where we can leverage our strongest organizational capabilities […] The transaction we are announcing today marks a significant moment for Hain Celestial”.
The deal is expected to close by the end of February. Hain Celestial indicated that the divested snacks portfolio accounted for approximately 22% of the company’s $1.6 billion net sales in fiscal 2025. The company stated that the proceeds will be used to pay down debt and support sustainable growth in its remaining ‘better-for-you’ categories.
