FreshBrew, one of the largest private-label coffee and tea producers in the US, has acquired the Branded Coffee licensed division of New York-based White Coffee Corporation.
The strategic acquisition, described by the companies as one of the largest transactions in the industry this year, transfers ownership of the nation’s largest portfolio of licensed bagged coffee and K-Cup products. The assets enable FreshBrew to develop, produce and market coffee for major established brands, including Mars, Jim Beam and Harry & David, complementing its existing private-label business.
The transaction, for which financial terms were not disclosed, is set to significantly expand FreshBrew’s operations, scaling its daily coffee production capability to approximately 150,000 pounds.
Al Ansari, CEO of FreshBrew, claimed that the move “expands our offerings and diversifies our customer and consumer base,” adding that acquiring White Coffee Corporation presented “a rare opportunity to strengthen our position in the coffee industry.”
The deal also sees White Coffee executives Jonathan White and Gregory White join FreshBrew’s leadership team to oversee the transition and focus on the retail division. This latest acquisition follows FreshBrew’s strategic decision in 2022 to divest its vending operations, aiming to focus resources on its core coffee, tea and extract product lines.
Carole White, president of White Coffee Corporation, stated that seeing their brands carried forward by FreshBrew “ensures that White Coffee’s history of quality and care will live on for future generations of coffee drinkers”.
