Danone, the global dairy firm, has announced its plans to invest in expanding its yoghurt facility in Minster, OH, where it produces brands including Oikos, Activia, Dannon and Danimals.
The investment plan includes expanding the site by 48,000 sq ft, installing a new production line and modernising operations, which will generate approximately 30 full-time jobs.
Commenting on the move, Danone North America president Dan Magliocco said: “Our commitment to American manufacturing runs deep, with 90 percent of our ingredients and packaging materials bought here. Fulfilling our Mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible, means producing nutrient-rich foods with U.S. ingredients in American factories that are benefiting local communities”.
Danone North America chief operations officer Heiko Gerling added: “We are excited to continue growing our team and presence in Minster, Ohio. This is the latest example of our 80+ years of investments in American food, its economy and the farming partners that sustain our food systems – and this closely follows our recent investment in Jacksonville, Florida”.
