Applied Nutrition, the UK-based sports nutrition business, has purchased the majority of the assets of US-based sports nutrition manufacturer Nutrablend Group for $16 million (£12 million) in cash.
The transaction includes a six-acre production and logistics facility in Buffalo, New York, featuring five powder filling lines and three stick-pack filling machines, alongside an inventory valued at around $5 million. Nutrablend’s two in-house supplement brands, Basic Supplements and GR8 Lifestyle, are also part of the deal.
Following the acquisition, these brands will operate under the AN Supps business, while the white-label manufacturing arm will trade as AN Labz.
Applied Nutrition CEO Thomas Ryder stated: “The acquisition of a US manufacturing site significantly strengthens our ability to support ongoing growth in the region and provides us with the ability to expand our North American offering, harnessing Nutrablend’s experienced management team”.
The facility is expected to provide production capacity of up to about $300 million of revenue per year to support future customer demand across Applied Nutrition’s AN and ABE ranges.
