Anheuser-Busch, the USA beer manufacturer, has announced an investment of more than $20 million into its St. Louis and Arnold operations in Missouri to drive local economic growth and fuel production.
According to a company press release, the funding will be utilised to upgrade brewery and packaging equipment to fuel the production of its fast-growing beer brand, Michelob ULTRA. Furthermore, a portion of the investment will fund the opening of a new technical skills training centre inside the flagship St. Louis brewery. This facility is designed to upskill employees across mechanical, electrical, digital, and operational areas, with the company aiming to train more than 90% of its manufacturing workforce over the next five years.
This latest expenditure forms part of Anheuser-Busch’s ongoing Brewing Futures initiative, under which the business is investing $600 million in its United States operations across 2025 and 2026 to strengthen American manufacturing. The announcement also follows an investment of more than $8 million at the same plant in 2024.
Commenting on the development, Anheuser-Busch chief executive Brendan Whitworth said: “Investments at this scale in our facilities and our people ensure that our St. Louis Brewery remains at the heart of Anheuser-Busch, supporting continued growth and driving economic prosperity in our hometown for decades to come”.
