USA: B&G Foods to sell Le Sueur brand to McCall Farms

Food manufacturer B&G Food has announced the sale of the Le Sueur brand of peas, green beans and carrots to preserved fruit and vegetable specialist McCall Farms for an undisclosed sum.

The proceeds from the sale will be used for general corporate purposes including the repayment of long-term debt, the purchase of assets useful in B&G Foods’ business, and to pay taxes, fees and expenses related to the sale.

B&G Foods is a manufacturer of branded shelf-stable and frozen food across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, with a portfolio of more than 50 brands including B&G, B&M, Bear Creek, Cream of Wheat, Crisco, Dash, Green Giant and Las Palmas.

“Our sale of the Le Sueur brand represents continued progress in our ongoing efforts to reshape our portfolio, sharpen focus on our core brands and reduce long-term debt,” said B&G Foods president and CEO Casey Keller. “The Le Sueur brand has performed very well for us over the years, and we believe it will continue to thrive under the ownership of McCall Farms”.

Canada is excluded from the deal.
