Bakeit Food, the UK-based breakfast cereal manufacturer, has launched a new £3 million ($4 million) production facility in Winchester, Hampshire.
The 12,500 sq ft site is dedicated to granola production, addressing what the company describes as a shortage of UK-based capacity amid booming category demand. Founded by Franco Beer and Christopher Christofi – the entrepreneurs behind the cereal bar brand Boka – the factory produces approximately 220 tonnes of granola monthly and has already achieved BRC AA and IFS Higher Level certifications.
According to the company, the facility integrates baking, packing and warehousing for a range of products including loose, crunchy, and clustered granolas, as well as mueslis and oatmeal. Founder Franco Beer stated: “British granola and cereal brands were struggling to find UK-based production, so there was an opportunity to build a manufacturing site that could support the growth of the category”.
Bakeit Food plans further expansion in 2026, including the addition of a new warehouse and a pouch filling line. The company also intends to introduce baked bar production, such as flapjacks.
