Arla, the UK’s largest dairy cooperative, has announced it has commenced work on a £179 million ($238 million) facility in Devon that will specialise in the manufacture of mozzarella cheese.
As part of the initiative, the Taw Valley Creamery will undergo extensive upgrades, integrating new technology to enable the export of mozzarella for use in culinary applications.
Fran Ball, VP of production for Arla Foods UK, said: “We’re incredibly proud to see construction begin on our cutting-edge mozzarella plant in the UK. This expansion not only strengthens our production capabilities but also provides an opportunity to attract and train new talent. […] It’s a truly exciting time for Arla and all our colleagues at Taw Valley as we continue to lead the way in British dairy manufacturing”.
