German chewing gum manufacturer AsCom Confection has taken over confectionery producer Bodeta after the latter had filed for insolvency, according to a report in Lebensmittel Praxis. Bodeta was reportedly struggling financially due to rising energy and raw material costs, leading the firm to trigger a process of self administration in order to restructure its business.
