Nestle’s first Nescafe Dolce Gusto factory outside Europe is set to begin operation with the inauguration of a new coffee capsule facility in Montes Clares, Brazil.

Nestle said the investment was in response to demand for the brand´s coffee pods in Latin America, especially in Brazil where Dolce Gusto has been the market leader since its introduction in 2009.

The facility, which cost 2 million CHF ($2 million), will produce Nescafe Dolce Gusto pod coffee products primarily for the domestic market, but will also export to the Argentinian, Paraguayan and Uruguayan markets.

Nestle CEO Paul Bulcke stated: “This Nescafé Dolce Gusto factory is a strategic long-term investment in Latin America and specifically in Brazil, a country in which we have been present for over 90 years and which has been at the basis of our Nescafé story”.
