Paulig, the Finnish family-owned food and drink company, has entered into an agreement to sell its Swedish subsidiary Risenta to Midsona, a Nordic leader in health and well-being products.
Risenta, which specialises in plant-based food products such as muesli, seeds, flour and snacks, was founded in 1940 and has been part of the Paulig Group since 2015. According to the company, the brand achieved net sales of €28.3 million ($33.4 million) in 2017. The divestment is part of Paulig’s strategy to sharpen its focus on its core World Foods & Flavouring and Coffee business areas.
Commenting on the deal, Tina Andersson, acting CEO of Paulig, said: “The sale of Risenta is a step in our strategy to focus on our core business. We have found a good home for Risenta in Midsona, whose portfolio and expertise in health products are a perfect match for the brand”.
