Oatly, the Swedish oat milk manufacturer, has announced a 170 million SEK ($16 million) investment to upgrade its “Oat Campus” production facility in Landskrona.
The investment is aimed at enhancing the site’s manufacturing capabilities and improving resource efficiency. Key developments include the installation of a new, high-capacity filling line for chilled products and a central palletising system. Additionally, the company is implementing heat recovery systems and solar panels to reduce the plant’s environmental footprint.
Jean-Christophe Flatin, CEO of Oatly, commented: “This investment is a clear commitment to our Swedish roots and our production site in Landskrona. By upgrading our facilities, we are not only increasing our capacity to meet growing demand but also taking significant steps towards a more sustainable and efficient production process”.
The Landskrona facility, which opened in 2006, is Oatly’s primary production hub for the European market. This latest expansion follows a series of global investments by the firm, including the opening of new manufacturing sites in the USA and China, as it continues to scale its operations to meet the increasing consumer shift toward plant-based alternatives.
