Dutch dairy multinational FrieslandCampina has reached an agreement to sell its operations in Romania to Bonafarm Group, a regional food and beverage company.
This transaction includes the Napolact brand and two production sites in Cluj-Napoca and Târgu Mureș that employ around 400 people.
Commenting on the move, FrieslandCampina Europe President Dustin Woodward said: “This step enables us to better align the European portfolio with our strategy to maximise the value of FrieslandCampina member milk, allowing us to focus our resources more effectively. At the same time, the intended transaction offers new growth opportunities for the Romanian business and the Napolact brand under the leadership of a partner with a stronger regional presence”.
Bonafarm Group CEO Attila Csányi added: “Subject to the necessary regulatory approvals, we intend to invest in the increased capacity of the facilities, preserve the strong and cooperative relationships with commercial and supplier partners and contribute to the development of the Romanian dairy industry”.
The transaction is expected to be completed by the end of December 2025, subject to regulatory clearance.
