Dutch cheese producer Cono Kaasmakers has announced the acquisition of local herb butter producer Jacques Kruidenboter.
Based in Den Helder, in the North Holland province, Jacques’ Kruidenboter specialises in white cheese and butter, in addition to seasonings. The company, which owns brands like Beurre Trefle and Solataki, supplies supermarkets, the foodservice sector, and the food industry both domestically and abroad.
Commenting on the move, Cono Kaasmakers managing director Jerry Griep said: “Within a challenging market, collaboration is the key to progress. Through this acquisition, we are bringing two strong parties together, combining knowledge and passion – and staying true to who we are”.
Jacques’ Kruidenboter founder Wim van der Linden added: “After years of dedication, we were looking for a party that understands our values and takes the brand forward with respect. CONO feels like a natural successor. Our people, customers and partners are a good fit”.
Founded in 1901, Cono Kaasmakers constitutes a cooperative of over 400 dairy farmers that operates a cheesemaking factory in Beemster, north of Amsterdam.
