Netherlands: Alicorp to acquire Flora Food Group assets in Latin America

Alicorp, the Peru-based food and consumer goods giant, has reached an agreement to acquire the Latin American operations of Flora Food Group, a Netherlands-headquartered specialist in plant-based spreads.

The proposed transaction, which is expected to close later in 2026, includes Flora’s brand portfolio and commercial operations across 17 Latin American markets, including Peru, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama and the Dominican Republic. While the deal excludes Flora’s operations in Brazil and Mexico, it includes a key manufacturing facility located in Cali, Colombia. The acquisition will be executed through Alicorp’s subsidiary, Alicorp Holdco Espana.

The deal incorporates a regional portfolio featuring prominent plant-based brands such as La Danesa, Dorina and Bonella. Alicorp, which is part of Grupo Romero and owns major labels including AlaCena, Don Vittorio and Nicolini, reported 2025 annual revenues of 11.76 billion PEN ($3.42 billion), an 11% increase over the previous year. However, the company saw an 18% decline in net profit from continuing operations during the same period.

The move follows other regional consolidation, such as Saputo’s recent agreement to sell an 80% stake in its Argentinian dairy business to Peru’s Grupo Gloria. The Alicorp transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals in several jurisdictions, including authorities in Colombia, Ecuador and Trinidad & Tobago.
