Henkell Freixenet, the international sparkling wine producer, has acquired a 60% stake in Cassidy Wines, the Irish wine distributor. The combined business will operate under the established Cassidy Wines name as part of the Henkell Freixenet group, with the ambition of becoming one of Ireland’s leading wine distribution companies.
Cassidy Wines, which possesses almost 50 years of experience in the Irish wine trade, will continue to operate from its modern bonded warehouse in Citywest. The partnership aims to capitalise on growth in Ireland, where the sparkling wine market recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6% over the past decade.
