Reliance Consumer Products (RCPL), the FMCG subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has acquired the global rights to a portfolio of heritage personal care brands, including Brylcreem, Toni & Guy, Badedas, and Matey, from global peer Unilever.
The acquisition, disclosed alongside the company’s quarterly results, grants Reliance ownership of the brands worldwide, with “a few territories excluded”. While financial terms were not disclosed, the deal signals a major expansion for Reliance into the premium grooming and personal care segments. The portfolio comprises Brylcreem, the iconic men’s hair styling brand, Toni & Guy, a premium salon-heritage haircare label, Badedas, a bath additive brand, and Matey, a children’s bathing range.
In an investor presentation, the company stated: “RCPL acquired international Beauty brands spanning key grooming and bathing segments. We have acquired global rights to these heritage brands… and aim to expand their presence in international markets while growing them in India”.
The deal follows a period of aggressive expansion for RCPL, which recently acquired a majority stake in Udhaiyams Agro Foods and relaunched the Velvette personal care brand. The company reported a 60% year-on-year increase in gross revenue to 5,065 crore INR ($603 million) for the quarter ended December 31, 2025.
