Heritage Foods, the India-based dairy and retail company, has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art ice cream manufacturing plant in Shamirpet, near Hyderabad.

The new facility represents a significant expansion for the company’s value-added dairy portfolio. The plant has an installed production capacity of 24 million litres per annum, with provisions to scale up in line with future demand. The project involved a capital investment of 204 crore INR ($24.5 million). The site is equipped with automated production systems and advanced quality control infrastructure to support the production of a wide range of frozen treats and maintain operational efficiency.

Commenting on the launch, Heritage Foods vice-chairperson and managing director N Bhuvaneswari stated: “The commissioning of our Shamirpet ice cream manufacturing facility marks an important milestone in Heritage Foods’ growth journey. As consumer demand for high-quality ice creams continues to expand, this facility will enable us to scale our operations, introduce innovative products, and strengthen our presence in key markets”.

The move aligns with Heritage Foods’ strategy to increase the contribution of value-added products, such as ice cream and desserts, to its overall revenue. Currently, the company’s ice cream business generates approximately 100 crore INR in annual revenue, and the new facility is expected to bolster its position significantly across South and Western India.
