Dabur, the Indian consumer goods giant, has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in the state of Tamil Nadu with an investment of 400 crore INR ($48 million).
The new plant, to be located in the SIPCOT industrial park in Tindivanam, represents the company’s first manufacturing presence in South India. The facility will primarily focus on the production of a diverse range of products, including Red Toothpaste, Odonil air fresheners, and Real fruit juices. This move is intended to enhance Dabur’s manufacturing capacity and improve its distribution efficiency within the southern region.
The investment is expected to create approximately 250 direct jobs, in addition to generating thousands of indirect employment opportunities in the local area. Commenting on the project, Dabur India CEO Mohit Malhotra said: “This new facility will allow us to better serve our consumers in South India and is a testament to our commitment to the ‘Make in India’ initiative”.
Construction of the multi-category plant is slated to begin shortly, as part of Dabur’s broader strategy to expand its industrial footprint across the country.
