Harry-Brot, the German industrial bakery group, has agreed to acquire the production site of Gotz-Brot, the Wurzburg-based bakery chain. The transaction focuses on the Gotz-Brot manufacturing facility located in Waldbuttelbrunn.
According to reports, Gotz-Brot operated a network of 70 branches and employed 450 staff before entering insolvency proceedings. While Harry-Brot is securing the production operations, the retail side of the business – comprising the Kiliansback, Mullerback and Tante Wera brands – is being sold to separate regional bakery operators. The move is intended to ensure the continuation of the production site following Gotz-Brot’s financial difficulties.
Harry-Brot, which has previously expanded its industrial footprint through strategic regional acquisitions, is a major German industrial bread manufacturer.
