Boparan Private Office (BPO), the investment vehicle of entrepreneur Ranjit Singh Boparan, has reached an agreement to acquire the German turkey and chicken processor Heidemark for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Ahlhorn, Lower Saxony, Heidemark is a third-generation family business generating annual revenues of approximately €760 million ($805 million). The company operates five production sites and employs around 2,300 staff. Following the transaction, Heidemark will join BPO’s European poultry division, Storteboom Food Group, as an independent business unit alongside existing operations in the Netherlands, Poland and Ireland.
Ranjit Boparan, president of BPO, commented: “The business fits perfectly into our wider group ‘Next Gen’ strategy as we look to develop our manufacturing facilities to deliver enhanced automation, innovation, productivity and Net Zero sustainability”.
The deal follows BPO’s recent consolidation of its poultry interests, including the acquisition of the Hook2Sisters joint venture from 2 Sisters Food Group — the UK private-label poultry major also owned by Mr Boparan — in 2025. Storteboom Food Group currently processes approximately 4.3 million chickens per week across nine sites.
Heidemark will retain its existing leadership, including CEO Andres Ruff, and all employees will remain in post. The acquisition remains subject to merger control clearance by the European Commission.
