Pernod Ricard, the wine and spirits major, has announces the successful divestment of strategic international wine brands to Australian Wine Holdco Limited (AWL), a consortium of global institutional investors and the owner of Accolade Wines.
The divestment paves the way for the creation of a new global wine company under the name Vinarchy, and will also allows Pernod Ricard to focus on its premium international spirits and champagne brands.
The transaction encompasses a diverse portfolio of wine brands, which collectively account for over 10 million 9 litre cases annually. These brands include Jacob’s Creek, Orlando and St Hugo from Australia, Brancott Estate, Stoneleigh and Church Road from New Zealand, and Campo Viejo, Ysios, Tarsus and Azpilicueta from Spain.
The integrated business includes operations from vineyard to bottle, featuring seven wineries.
