CH Guenther & Son (CHG), the US-based commercial baking and food manufacturing company, has announced the acquisition of Les Aliments Mejicano, a Canadian producer of flour tortillas.
Based near Montreal, Quebec, Les Aliments Mejicano manufactures a variety of flour tortillas for retail, foodservice and private-label customers. According to the company, the acquisition is intended to expand San Antonio-headquartered C.H. Guenther & Son’s (CHG) manufacturing scale and strategic partnerships within the high-growth tortilla category. Around 80 employees from Mejicano Foods are expected to join CHG, which currently employs more than 5,000 people across 30 manufacturing facilities in the USA, Canada and Western Europe.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
