Lotus Bakeries, the Belgian biscuit manufacturer, has committed to investing at least €500 million ($548 million) across three continents between 2026 and 2030 in its largest-ever capital expenditure programme for the Biscoff brand.

The multi-year investment strategy will deliver gradual capacity increases aligned with expected demand to support the brand’s long-term ambition to become the world’s third-largest biscuit brand.

In the US, construction is underway on an additional production hall for Biscoff cookies and spread at the Mebane (NC) facility, expected to be commissioned mid-2028. In Thailand, ground works have recently started for a second production hall at the Chonburi site, with the first new line expected to be operational before the end of 2027. This follows an official groundbreaking ceremony was held for an additional production hall at the Lembeke site in Belgium.

Lotus Bakeries first announced its plans for a factory in Mebane in 2016.

Additionally, Lotus Bakeries has revealed it is in discussions with Mondelez to develop a business plan for Brazil, based on a model similar to the one successfully implemented in India.

The announcements coincided with the group reporting a 14% revenue increase to €749.1 million ($821 million) in the first half of 2026, driven by volume and revenue growth of more than 20% for Lotus Biscoff.
