Tip Top Bakeries, the Australian bread manufacturer, has officially opened a new A$130 million ($85 million) state-of-the-art production line at its Canning Vale facility in Western Australia.
The investment has effectively doubled the site’s fresh bread production capacity, with the new line capable of producing 8,350 loaves per hour. According to the company, the upgrade will increase overall output from 44 million to 56 million loaves per year to meet the needs of a rapidly growing local population. The project follows a significant fire at the bakery in October 2025, which disrupted local supply.
Andrew Cummings, managing director of Tip Top Bakeries, commented: “When last year’s fire temporarily disrupted production at our Canning Vale bakery, it highlighted just how critical local food manufacturing is in Western Australia. This $130 million investment secures the future of WA’s bread supply. It means greater resilience, stronger reliability, outstanding quality and confidence that fresh bread will stay on supermarket shelves across the state”.
Tip Top Bakeries is a division of George Weston Foods, a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK-based Associated British Foods (ABF).
