Australian winery Australian Vintage has announced that the company entered a strategic partnership with Burch Family Wines to acquire international ownership of the brand MadFish, a wine brand from Western Australia.
In a press release, the company said it would become the exclusive distributor of Howard Park Wines in the UK, Ireland, Europe and Canada, whilst Burch Family Wines will be the owner of brand rights and distribute MadFish and Howard Park Wines in Australia.
Commenting on the deal, Tom Dusseldorp, CEO of Australian Vintage, said: “These brands will complement Australian Vintage’s existing stable of award-winning labels, providing increased volume and value without increased overhead. Australian Vintage continues to focus on advancing shareholder value by accelerating capital-light growth through partnerships and innovations”.
In addition to the acquisition, the firms also agreed to a long-term sourcing and processing partnership for consistency, quality and scalable growth purposes.
