Asahi, the beverage manufacturer, is to receive a new 48,500 sq m distribution facility developed by Goodman, the property group, at Redbank Motorway Estate in Queensland, Australia.
The facility will support the company’s supply chain transformation by utilising advanced technology, including a high-speed shuttle system and robotics. According to the company, this will allow customers to receive its full range of alcohol and non-alcohol beverages via a single order, payment and delivery truck.
Adrian Benson, chief supply chain officer at Asahi, commented: “The development will help Asahi simplify our warehousing and distribution network along Australia’s east coast while delivering sustainability benefits via more efficient distribution routes”. The site is targeting a 5 Star Green Star rating and will feature 1mw of solar power and 50,000 l of rainwater collection tanks.
Following construction by the appointed builder McNab, a 12-month automation fit-out will take place, with the space expected to be fully operational by 2028.
