Orkla Snacks, the confectionery, biscuits and salty snacks business unit of Orkla, has agreed to acquire 100% of the shares in vegan sugar confectionery producer The European Candy Group, also known as CCI.
The transaction values the Dutch private-label confectionery manufacturer at an enterprise value of €207 million ($225 million) on a cash- and debt-free basis. Orkla reported that the deal will provide the production capacity needed to support the growth of its BUBS brand in Nordic markets and accelerate its expansion across Europe. CCI, which has supplied selected BUBS products since 2025, operates four production facilities, three in the Netherlands and one in Germany.
The company is being acquired from funds managed by Bencis Capital Partners and management shareholders. In 2025, CCI reported revenues of circa €94 million ($102 million), and in 2026 it is projected to generate revenues of circa €110 million ($120 million) with an adjusted EBITDA of c. €21 million ($23 million).
Commenting on the deal, Orkla Snacks CEO Ingvill T Berg said: “CCI is a natural strategic fit for Orkla Snacks. The company brings unique expertise in the sugar confectionery market and a broad customer network spanning several European countries”.
Subject to customary regulatory approvals and advice from CCI’s works council, closing is expected towards the end of Q3 or early in Q4 2026.
