Lotus Bakeries, the Belgian confectionery manufacturer, has broken ground on a major expansion project at its headquarters in Lembeke. The company is constructing a fourth production hall dedicated entirely to its Biscoff brand to meet rising global demand.
According to reports, the new facility will house an additional two Biscoff biscuit production lines, with the first line expected to become operational by late 2025. Financial details of the project have not been disclosed.
Jan Boone, CEO of Lotus Bakeries, stated: “This expansion feels like a very natural next step in the globalisation of Biscoff. Biscoff was created here in Lembeke, more than 90 years ago, and from day one our focus has been on quality, craftsmanship and the power of branding”.
The Lembeke site is currently the company’s largest manufacturing facility, operating alongside Biscoff production plants in the USA and a third site currently under construction in Thailand.
