Pascual, the Spanish dairy and food group, has reached an agreement to sell its milk production facility in Gurb to Casa Tarradellas, a Spanish food manufacturer specialising in chilled pizzas and meat products.
The factory, located in the province of Barcelona, will be repurposed by Casa Tarradellas to produce mozzarella for its pizza range. According to company sources, the acquisition is intended to “strengthen its industrial project” and enhance vertical integration for its chilled food operations. Casa Tarradellas, which is headquartered in the same region, has committed to retaining the site’s entire workforce.
The divestment follows a period of strategic realignments for Pascual, which also operates a joint venture with Idilia Foods to produce the Cola Cao Shake range. For Casa Tarradellas, the deal marks further expansion of its production capabilities following its 2019 purchase of a majority stake in Nestle’s Herta charcuterie and dough business.
A spokesperson for Pascual stated that the sale was part of an effort to “optimise its industrial structure” while ensuring the continuity of the plant’s operations under new ownership. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
