Olio Piro, the American producer of Piro extra virgin olive oil, and Bonini, the Italian producer of artisanal balsamic vinegar, have announced a merger to form a new premium condiments entity.

The deal brings together two high-end Italian brands to leverage combined expertise in production and distribution. Olio Piro, based in Tuscany, produces a multi-award-winning extra virgin olive oil made from a blend of four olive varieties. Bonini, based in Modena, specialises in traditional balsamic vinegar aged using the “Solera” method in sets of barrels of different woods.

The merged company will focus on expanding its presence in the North American and international markets. Both brands will continue to operate under their respective names while benefiting from shared resources.

Romain Douvray, co-founder of Olio Piro, stated: “This merger is a natural progression of our shared commitment to excellence. By combining our strengths, we can offer our customers a more comprehensive range of world-class Italian condiments while maintaining the artisanal quality that defines both Piro and Bonini”.

Fabio Massimo Bonini, founder of Bonini, added: “Joining forces with Olio Piro allows us to reach a wider audience and share our passion for authentic balsamic vinegar with more food enthusiasts around the world”.
