Griesson De Beukelaer, the German bakery company behind the Prinzenrolle brand, has announced an investment of €100 million ($117.5 million) to expand production capacity for its Griesson Soft Cake brand at its factory in Wurzen, eastern Germany.
The investment will go towards constructing a new production hall, a logistics building with an automated high-bay warehouse, and an office facility, all designed to support further technological advancement and strengthen the site’s existing automation capabilities.
Commenting on the move, Griesson De Beukelaer CEO Dany Schmidt said: “With the future strength of a high-performing family business, we are continuing the development of our Wurzener Dauerbackwaren plant. Passion and a love for baking define our team and our work in a forward-looking and crisis-resistant industry”.
The expansion is expected to be completed by 2027 and is projected to create up to 100 jobs.
