L’Oreal, the French cosmetics giant, has announced plans to establish a new “beauty tech hub” in Hyderabad, India, with an initial investment of over $383 million.
The new facility, described as the company’s first global beauty tech innovation hub powered by artificial intelligence, is scheduled to open in November 2026. According to the company, the centre will serve as a key node in its global technology network, focusing on the development of “beauty-tech” solutions using generative AI and data analytics. The hub is expected to create approximately 2,000 jobs by 2030 and will support L’Oreal’s operations worldwide by accelerating the rollout of personalised and digital beauty services.
Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oreal, commented: “We believe that the future of beauty lies at the intersection of science, technology and creativity, so Hyderabad will now sit at the heart of our AI and digital ambition. This first-of-its-kind Beauty Tech Hub reinforces our commitment to India’s growth”.
The project builds on L’Oreal’s existing footprint in India, where it has operated for over 30 years and maintains two manufacturing facilities.
