Wickles Pickles, an Alabama-based producer of pickles and spreads, has been acquired by Fenwick Food Group, a division of Fenwick Brands Inc that acts as an operating platform for food brands.
Wickles Pickles was founded in 1998 and is claimed to offer a unique flavor profile and robust product offering. Fenwick Food Group described the investment as “timely”, noting Wickles Pickles had reached “an inflection point” with further resources needed to enable the business to scale.
The brand will join Moore’s marinades & sauces, which also hail from Alabama and are already owned by Fenwick Food Group.
Melissa Baker, President and CEO of Fenwick Food Group, said: “We were aligned on the long-term vision and strategy for the brand, which cemented the partnership. […] Two Alabama-based consumer brands coming together is special in the broader consumer packaged goods industry and made the investment more relational than transactional”.
Will Sims, co-founder of Wickles Pickles, added: “Fenwick is the perfect partner to accelerate the brand’s growth trajectory while preserving its identity and operating roots. We’re excited to see Wickles get the resources and investment it deserves to scale”.
