Tyson Foods, one of the world’s largest meat firms, has announced an investment of $61 million in its poultry facility in Vicksburg, MS, according to a FoodBev report.
The expansion, which is expected to be completed by next summer, will allow Tyson to increase poultry production capacity and create nearly 50 new jobs.
The facility in Vicksburg makes fully cooked chicken products for both foodservice and retail customers.
David Bray, group president for poultry at Tyson Foods, said: “The demand for convenient, high-quality chicken products continues to grow and there is no brand more trusted than Tyson – we are pleased to invest in our business as we invest in the great state of Mississippi”.
