Trinchero Family Estates, the US-based wine and spirits producer, has agreed to acquire Mumm Napa, a leading premium sparkling wine brand, from the French beverage giant Pernod Ricard.
Based in the Napa Valley, Mumm Napa is known for its portfolio of Methode Traditionnelle sparkling wines. The acquisition includes the brand itself, its inventory, and its Napa-based winery and visitor centre. According to Trinchero Family Estates, the deal strengthens its luxury portfolio and its presence in the sparkling wine category.
While the financial terms were not disclosed, the transaction follows Pernod Ricard’s recent strategic moves to divest non-core wine assets, including the sale of its international wine portfolio to Australian Wine Holdco earlier this year.
Bob Torkelson, president and CEO of Trinchero Family Estates, stated: “We are thrilled to welcome Mumm Napa to our family. It is an iconic brand with a rich heritage in Napa Valley and a reputation for excellence. This acquisition aligns perfectly with our strategy to grow our luxury wine offerings and provide our customers with a diverse range of high-quality products”.
Trinchero Family Estates is one of the largest family-owned wine companies in the USA, with a portfolio that includes Sutter Home and Ménage à Trois.
