US frozen food maker Schwan’s Company has agreed to acquire pizza maker MaMa Rosa’s for an undisclosed amount.
MaMa Rosa’s produces and sells refrigerated pizzas under the MaMa Rosa’s and Fight’n Tomato Pizza Co. brands, and operates a 160,000 sq ft facility in Sidney, OH
“We are extremely excited to have MaMa Rosa’s join the Schwan’s family of businesses based on their reputation in our industry for delivering great quality and service”n said Dimitrios Smyrnios, chief executive officer of Schwan’s Company. “This acquisition will be mutually beneficial.”
“For Schwan’s, this acquisition demonstrates our commitment to the U.S. pizza market and gives us an opportunity to immediately expand our pizza business” Mr. Smyrnios added.
Schwan’s Company makes and distribute products developed under brands such as Red Baron, Freschetta,Tony’s Schwan’s, Mrs. Smith’s, Edwards and many others.
The sale is expected to be completed in June.
